Andrews: Two debriefs in one session!

News story imageSimon Andrews was back out on track this morning on the MSS Colchester Kawasaki, setting the fourth fastest time in one of the closest sessions of the season so far. But with the times as close as they are, he is seeking that slight improvement that will ensure he secures a front row start for qualifying.

Andrews was diagnosed yesterday with a broken scaphoid in his left wrist sustained in a testing crash several weeks ago. However, this hasn't deterred him and after final free practice he was boosted by how close the times were, leaving him in a confident mood. Andrews admits though that he is spending as much time debriefing with the team as he is with the medical team here at the track.

Andrews told the BSB website: "This session went ok, but as well as giving feedback to the team I am also giving feedback to the physio! It is so close though that one tenth would make me first and there really is nothing in it. My number one bike is working well now and we have made some changes to the gearing to get slightly different rear range to suit the corners. We need to make sure we have the best race pace and be able to run it consistently, and then the rest will come. But I want to be on the front two rows in qualifying for sure."

The next round takes place at Knockhill on 3/4/5 July. For more information visit www.knockhill.co.uk
