Andrews: Hit by a LASER
Tuesday, 02 June 2009 15:21
News story imageSimon Andrews is so determined to be back on track at Mallory Park next weekend (17/18/19 July) that the MSS Colchester Kawasaki rider has undergone some laser treatment this week on his broken left scaphoid.

Andrews discovered the injury during the Knockhill event last weekend, which he sustained in a testing crash a few weeks previously. He has been debating surgery, but with so little time between rounds he has decided following the laser treatment to grin and bare it next weekend.

Andrews told the BSB website: "I went to have some laser treatment on the wrist yesterday, but I don't think there will be time for any more before Mallory Park. I will have to wait and see whether it has helped at all, the problem is the break is quite wide and I hope that this will help it start to knit back together. I am going to have an X-Ray when I get to the track to see if it has had an affect, if it has then I will have some more so that I can get out on the bike at Brands Hatch.

"Mallory Park is going to be hard work with the injury as there are three chicanes and it is quite physical. But I am hoping with the treatment it might be less painful and fingers crossed, I can get some more strong finishes. I have already shown what the MSS Colchester Kawasaki is capable of so I don't want to stop now."

The next round of the championship takes place at Mallory Park on 17/18/19 July. For more information visit www.mallorypark.co.uk
