I'm having a good read of my old putting notes ahead of the Andalucia Open which is our next stop on tour.
Last week I had another nightmare on the greens which meant I missed the cut at the Sicilian Open when I should have cruised into the weekend. The way I was hitting the ball I should have been challenging at the top.
In the first round I hit 12 greens in regulation and had 24 putts which is way too many and the second round was pretty similar. You feel like breaking the putter over your knee.
There were two occasions when I thought I'd chipped in and the ball just lipped out then I missed the tidler coming back which isn't good enough.
All my career I have made notes going back to my amateur days about what feels good and what doesn't from driving to long irons to chipping to putting and I've been pouring over those to try and find the key to my problems.
I know I need to relax and stop thinking about it too much but that isn't easy to do. I have to get a solid technique going which I can rely on and I know once I start holing a few everything will be fine again.
Anyway I want to put on a good show for the gang who are coming out to watch me in Malaga this week. Among them will be the Newcastle and former England player Alan Smith who is working his way back to fitness.
Apparently a good long walk every day can help him on the road to recovery so he should get plenty of miles on the clock while he's in Spain - especially if I make the cut!
