Latest from Danny's exclusive diary by Shaun Custis of The Sun newspaper
I've had my first taste of major championship golf - and I want a lot more of it. Playing in the US PGA was a great experience and it re-enforced my belief that I am good enough to compete at the very top level.
When I was on the practice range hitting balls and watching some of the Americans tuning up I saw nothing to frighten me, nothing which made me question whether I belonged in that company.
European golf is really strong now and our players are not intimidated by our rivals across the Atlantic.
That has been proved this season by Graeme McDowell's victory in the US Open and now the German Martin Kaymer's win at the US PGA.
Rory McIlroy has been in the mix too and Lee Westwood has come so close to a major success.
Don't get me wrong. I know I still have a way to go before my name is featuring on the leaderboards every week. But the ingredients are there.
I'm one of the top 100 players in the world and even though it was my first major I was reasonably relaxed and not too nervous.
The frustration was that I should have made the cut but failed to do so. I had two stupid double-bogeys which cost me dearly and I knew there was a score to be had on that course.
Yes, it was difficult, but that was really only when the wind blew. When the wind dropped you could attack it and I didn't take my chances.
It's back to Europe for my next event which will be the European Masters in Switzerland.
