Danny's Diary
What an amazing last day it was at the BMW Open in Munich - and I'm not just talking about the golf.
Firstly there was David Horsey's great win and congratulations to him. We have the same coach, Graham Walker, so it's good to know Graham's tips work!
But it was one of the most unusual afternoons I've ever experienced on a golf course because after David finished we all gathered round the big screen to watch the England v Germany game.
The organisers had sensibly got our tournament over before the big kick-off by bringing final day tee-times forward by two-and-a-half hours so that everything was done and dusted before the football.
There was a fantastic atmosphere among the players especially with us being in Germany. Martin Kaymer actually wore a German shirt as he holed out at the last while Paul Casey was walking round in his England jersey.
There was a lot of banter going on and we were screaming at the TV when Frank Lampard's goal was disallowed. How the ref couldn't see the ball was over the line I will never know.
In the end it was all rather depressing as England were well beaten but you do wonder what might have happened if we had got back to 2-2.
Anyway I had an okay week on the course, steady rather than spectacular. I was eight shots behind David and never got into real contention but 30th place was no disgrace and I'm looking forward to the French Open in Paris this week.
I've got a new set of irons which I like the feel of and hopefully they can get me challenging at the top of the leaderboard.
