England's year of triumph continues with Jonathan Trott and Alistair Cook landing top ICC awards
Trott hailed an “unbelievable year” for himself and the England team as his side became the world’s No 1 Test side and retained the Ashes in Australia. He edged out Cook, Sachin Tendulkar and South Africa’s Hashim Amla to take the award.
“I don’t think we’ve reached our peak – we’re a determined bunch of lads and complacency has no place in our changing room,” he said, citing his innings of 135 against Australia as the proudest of the four centuries he scored in the last year.
