England cricketer Eoin Morgan has this month signed a significant new bat sponsorship agreement with cricket giants Slazenger. The four-year deal, brokered by Eoin’s agents, started on the 1st January and the England star expressed his clear enthusiasm, commenting: “I’m delighted that Sport First have secured this move to Slazenger. The new V series range is awesome and I’m really looking forward to putting the V360 into action for England.”
Eoin enjoyed a highly successful 2010, playing an integral role in England’s victory at the T20 World Cup and finished the year as the highest ranked England One Day International batsman. Widely regarded as one of the most inventive and explosive batsmen in world cricket, he is recognised by Slazenger as a perfect brand ambassador. Sunny Singh, Head of Sports Marketing at Slazenger, said: “We are thrilled to have Eoin on board, Sport First have proved an invaluable partner to us in both cricket and golf, and we are delighted to cement our relationship further with this deal”.
Eoin will have plenty of opportunity to use his new bat, with a busy international period imminent, including T20 and ODI matches against Australia, the One Day World Cup in Asia and the Indian Premier League. The deal marks the start of a decade in player management and representation for agents Sport First, and follows a hugely successful 2010 campaign for both the company and some of its leading clients, including fellow England star Jonathan Trott, golfer Danny Willett and footballer Alan Smith. With other major announcements due soon, 2011 promises to be one of the busiest and best years yet for their highly respected team.
