Nathan shows great promise for England during the U19's World Cup in New Zealand

Nathan Buck starred for England U19’s as they beat Hong Kong U19’s by 9 wickets in the U19’s World Cup in New Zealand. England disposed of Hong Kong for 185, Leicestershire star Buck was impressive, taking the wickets of both opening batsmen for just 25 runs and finishing with figures of 2wkts for 19 runs in 9.5 overs. This win in New Zealand means England are through to play Afghanistan in the next round.


18th January 2010

Nathan Buck, again starred for England in the U19’s World Cup as they beat Afghanistan by another 9 wickets, a repeat of the 9 wicket win over Hong Kong in the previous match. Buck bowled his way to taking the first 3 wickets of the match for just 18 runs. He then had a hand in taking the 4th wicket, taking a catch from the bowling of Ben Stokes. England bowled out their opponents for just 126 runs and took just 26 overs to overhaul the Afghan total. This result saw England through to the Quarter Finals where they are to play a decent India team.

 

21st January 2010

Nathan Bucks’ U19 England team beat India by 31 runs to top Group A and set up a quarter final clash with the West Indies. Nathan picked up 2 wkts for 53 runs, further enhancing his reputation as one of England crickets bright young bowling talents. The West Indies beckon in the quarter finals.

 

23rd January 2010

England bowed out of the U19 World Cup, losing to the West Indies by 18 runs in the quarter final. Nathan picked up the wicket of Gordon for 26 runs in 6.4 overs.

 

Overall, a good tournament for Nathan, giving a good display of his blossoming talent.
